Forest Creek Named Facility of the Year by Kemper Sports

Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock, the ‘Sports Capital of Texas’  30 minutes from Austin, was awarded the “Facility of the Year” at the Kemper Sports Annual Leadership Conference which took place virtually for the first time in the company’s history, bringing together more than 500 company leaders from across the country, setting the vision for 2021.

From receiving an amazing 91 Net Promoter Score to exceeding financial goals to producing an overwhelmingly positive force within the community such as a toy drive benefitting 150 kids in the area, Forest Creek’s 2020 achievements spanned all aspects of the business. According to CEO Steve Skinner, “Forest Creek is the embodiment of our company spirit and truly showcases what it means to be a KemperSports managed property.”

Forest Creek provides the very best in Texas Hill Country golf. The 7,147 yards, par 72 layout has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the finest public golf courses in Central Texas. The meticulously maintained course and accommodating staff naturally complement the fantastic course design to create the total golf experience package.

Originally designed by well-known ASGCA Dick Phelps in 1992 and owned by the City of Round Rock, the golf club went through an extensive $5.1 million renovation in 2018. All 18 greens and the practice putting green and chipping green were replaced to USGA specifications with TifEagle Bermuda. In addition, a new tee box and green were added to allow for playoffs, 19th hole wagering and closest to the pin events.

The entire driving range was renovated and expanded with a new tee area, regrading of the range, installing new target greens and bunkers and lit with LED lighting for night practice, completely bordered by netting.

All bunkers were reconstructed using the unique Billy Bunker method. A new irrigation system was installed and the drainage in low-lying areas was significantly improved. Seven cart bridges were replaced and two others were reinforced and re-decked.

The Academy at Forest Creek provides children with life lessons through the game of golf with a variety of packages. The Club boasts four PGA Instructors on staff with private and group lessons available for all golfers’ abilities (young or old). They are currently offering Weekly and Player Development passes as well as Annual passes for 2021.

The Club is a favorite of many of the local charities, hosting tournaments throughout the year and providing outstanding service to them. For more information visit ForestCreek.com.
