Sixth Annual South Florida PGA HOPE Classic Raises Over $81,000 for South Florida Veterans

North Palm Beach, Fl – The South Florida PGA Foundation hosted its Sixth Annual PGA HOPE Classic May 13th at Lost Tree Club, raising over $81,000 to support the south Florida PGA HOPE program.

The South Florida PGA HOPE Classic is the flagship Foundation event for the South Florida PGA HOPE program, raising funds to enhance the lives of veterans through the game of golf, helping to improve their mental, emotional, physical and social well-being.

South Florida PGA HOPE graduate and national PGA HOPE Ambassador Mary Anderson-Knoell addressed the field following yesterday’s event, noting how her participation in HOPE saved her life.

Since 2015, the SFPGA HOPE program has helped nearly 1,000 veterans like Anderson-Knoell who have struggled to assimilate back to everyday life following their service. The funds raised through the PGA HOPE Classic will further improve and elevate each six-week program administered by the South Florida PGA and taught by PGA Professionals.

Competing in teams of four in a one net best-ball format, amateurs Gary Klein, Bob Gormley, Paul Ward-Smith and Richard Kontos shot 58 to win the HOPE Classic.

Without the help of our many partners, who play a key role in ensuring a great event for all, this event would not be possible. Those partners include: PXG, Kalyagen, Rob Torrington/Raymond James, Hilton West Palm Beach, Sailfish Brewing Company, Tito’s Vodka and SBA Communication Cooperation.

Thank you to Director of Golf, Brian Peaper, PGA, Head Professional, Michael Kostelnik, PGA and the entire Lost Tree staff for having us.
