Pelican Women’s Championship Pro-Am

Austin Ernst Wins a Lamborghini with a Hole-in-One at Pelican Women’s Championship Monday Pro-Am

BELLEAIR, Fla., – U.S. Solheim Cup veteran Austin Ernst recorded the first hole-in-one at the Pelican Women’s Championship on Monday, winning a two-year lease on a Lamborghini courtesy of Morgan Auto Group, the official auto group for the Pelican Women’s Championship.

The hole-in-one took place on the par-3 12th hole at Pelican Golf Club, which measured 147 yards on Monday. Ernst used an 8-iron, which took place during the Raymond James Monday Pro-Am.

“I hit it barely off the toe, but it was right online and landed on the green and I thought, ‘oh, that’s got a chance,’” said Ernst. “And we saw it roll out and I was like, ‘did that just go in?’”

A Lamborghini will be on display at the 12th hole throughout the week at the Pelican Women’s Championship, eligible for players to win a two-year lease should they record a hole-in-one.

“I’ve seen Lamborghini’s, but this is the first time I’ve ever sat in a Lamborghini,” Ernst continued. Two of my holes-in-one have been in competition, and now I have made two in pro-ams. This is really cool. I’m excited to take a little test drive.”

The Pelican Women’s Championship, taking place Nov. 11-14 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla., will feature 108 of the game’s top women professional golfers competing in the 72-hole championship for a share of the $1.75 million purse. Nineteen of the 24 players who competed in the recent Solheim Cup in early September are entered in the field, including all 12 members of the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
